Web pages don't complete unless I disable avast after upgrade today

Any help appreciated, as I have tried firefox, chrome and sea monkey with word press admin not loading - and other web admins not loading, some google links never resolve either. All works fine after I disable avast?

more info i’m on: win 7 pro 32bit, have rebooted several times, free version of Avast, 2014.9.0.2011

Hi and welcome

Have you tried disabling Avast Online Security Plug-in as there are some users reporting issues.
Maybe it will help.

ok I just came back from doing the control_panel>uninstall/install>repair thing and all seems to work now!
