I just tried for the 3rd time.
The registration screen worked fine, but no registration email was ever sent back to me on the previous 2 tries…I checked spam etc, but I’m not able to re-new my license…
Try using the SSL Registration Page: https://secure.avast.com/scripts/register.php?lang=ENG, it is important to choose the third option, already a registered user, my license has expired and need a new one (or words to that effect), otherwise it will transfer you back to the non-ssl registration page.
I tried that link as supplied in another post on this subject…no joy.
I’ll try again and report back.
BTW…it’s for my GFs old(er) Windows ME pc w/ Firefox, if that’s makes any difference.
We’ve had no trouble in the past 3yrs re-registering, tho…
It shouldn’t make a difference what PC it is for as the registration page doesn’t determine that.
Something is certainly blocking the email as I said, I received mine within seconds. Perhaps try using a different email address (domain) and see if that gets through. Some have used the free Yahoo account and that worked for them.
No luck with both of our email addresses…both of which are dialup on xxxx@copper.net.
I tried allowing ‘register@avast.com’ on the spam filter also…no luck.
I’ll try registering using my business email and see what happens, but after that??? ???
You can’t do that as part of the registration process is that they are effectively declaring that their use is for Home and non-commercial use, and you can’t make that declaration.
That is why I emphasised the need for it to be a different domain as two different email addresses but from the same domain would be controlled by the same ISP/server anti-spam policy.
The current email is from register (at) register.avast (dot) com. so your white listing would fail, easier if you allowed avast.com.
Intersting I’m seeing the same issue , had to reload the OS (ME) and I never see a message back . Have to try a different account and see what happens.
tried different email accounts and i’m still not seeing any emails , not sure what to do . Was working fine and it registered before reloading OS. Have tried uninstalling avast and reinstalling . Tried registering again for a new license , have tried the lost license procedure , never see a email . Any other ideas to try ???
