I was browsing on the website when i clicked on a link and it says avast has an infection detected for the site that will harm my computer, and if I were to want to open it I would have to turn off web shield and browse it again. Now I’m glad i DIDN’T enter that site at all, but the avast web shield detector has warned me of two threats and I was wondering if that’s just a notification telling me the software already stopped the virus from coming into my computer or if it’s telling me the threat is into my system??
If it’s the second one, what do i need to do to remove them?
There’s two threats with two URLS and both infections are labeled URL:Mal.
Is this severe? Do i need to do anything?
Please help, thanks!
You shouldn’t have to do anything, the web shield when it comes across an infection or malicious site aborts the connection, so nothing should have been downloaded to your system
I take it that you weren’t intentionally browsing polluster.net ?
As it is possible that this was a redirect from another site to this polluster.net site, which avast considers malicious.
No I wasn’t clicking on that website directly, I clicked on an ad by mistake and then a red screen just appeared with avast’s warnings.
So I can continue using my computer? Can I plug in hard drives and do all the normal stuff like nothing happened?
and can I delete the history on the avast web shield as well?
