Webshield not working?

Hi,

I am using 24.1.6099 (version 24.1.8821.762) and when I add a domain to the blocklist in the webshield (e.g. malwaretips.com), my browser Google Chrome opens that website (malwaretips.com) without any problem.

Does Avast has a website to check whether webshield is working?

I know that Chrome changed the default from allowing third-party software injecting DLL’s into the browser to blocking. Could this be the problem (does the webshield needs to allow its DLL injected to Chrome browser)?

I tried to access the link you provided, it says that the impressive AVAST service itself is infected.

Is it strange that the Avast service itself is blocked?
Avast what is happening with your products?

What else would you expect it is pretty much the same as using the EICAR virus test function to check your AV is alerting as it should. Hence test-url-blocker name.

I’m pretty sure that specific link is meant to be blocked, with the purpose of testing the web shield.
