Webshield Siteblocking and Exclusions

I have blocked all websites using https://* and http://* and it works but…

I needed to whitelist about 10 domains and all the https:// domains can be accessed. Ex. https://whentowork.com/* and https://.whentowork.com/ work just fine.

NO http site can be accessed no matter what the exclusions are. Ex. http://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/ must be available and it is excluded from webshield as http://www.state.nj.us/health/ems/* I even tried http://www.state.nj.us/* but it and every other http site we tried can never be unblocked they all fail no matter what the settings are. We also cant do avast updates even though the come from the excluded site http://.avast.com/

No variation of the url works when excluded http://www.state.nj.us/* or http://.state.nj.us/ even
*.msn.com fails and every other http site we add as an exclusion just gets the avast blocked the site page even if you delete the local exceptions and let them reload from the console.

In short - ALL, HTTPS:// sites work and I tested about 2 dozen more HTTP:// and they all fail even when the entire domain is excluded. URL exceptions simply don’t work and neither do ANY other http:// sites no matter how the exclusions is formatted…

If I turn of site blocking all sites work of course.

EDIT** Do not scan trusted sites is completely ignored as well.

I too have a similar issue. I am running avast business v17.4.2520 (build 17.4.3482.0). I need some computers that have constant dealings with the internet to also connect to a local ip server, fitted with a work related database that you operate on through internet explorer. So i prefer to have avast shields up. But for some reason web shield is restricting download of certain forms from the local server. Working on the platform is just fine otherwise.
I have tried to find if it’s a specific option in web shield component but none seems to work regardless if it’s on or off. Only “fix” is to entirely disable web shield.
I have tried to add exclusion for this local ip on general and on web shield component. And also tried different versions of the ip string in the exclusion box: “/*” “/” “just ip” . Gave same results no matter what. I also checked avast report in which it was clear that the exclusion is indeed seen by the program. But i still fail to understand why does it still blocks download…
Any ideas?
