Website blocked, false positive – Help!

Hi there…

I came across a strange behavior. You can test it here www (.)sanmiguel (.)io
AVAST is complaing all stuff. Images, html pages, … everything. I’ve already checked all files, word fence security is fine, downloaded the whole site, run the security file checker by AVAST, I set up a complete fresh wordpress testing instance – same same. No Plugins. No extra stuff for this specific testing purpose. I’ve send 5 times to the false positive url (Report False Positive) with no response. I even do not see where the alert ID should be I have to put in… ;(.

I hope you can help me out with this as this is crucial for us running a business website and not knowing how to handle this topic.

I assume it has sth. to do with .io-Domain or the caching in the backend (wp-rocket, Varnish). Strings within the url, I don’t know. I need a solution on that or at least some kind feedback of the AVAST team, so I can be sure there’s someone I send my infos to
& where to start…

Help much appreciated.

Best
Michael

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

  • You won’t get a direct response but it should be analysed within 48 hours, if found to be false it will be removed. Given you have submitted/reported it multiple times and is still detected, Avast must still consider it suspect.

There are sites that can also check a site link and or file upload.

Thank you so much @DavidR for coming back on this and the given urls. Tested on virustotal & sucuri and all seems to be fine. It’s weird as It is on a fresh install of wordpress too. Well, and as I haven’t got any feedback of AVAST yet, I do not know what else to test.

You’re welcome.

In Avast Antivirus Free the Unique id is at the bottom of the alert window
As I mentioned.

Now I don’t know if that is different to Avast One, but here is a test product to trigger an alert.

This is safe, all AVs have this detection in their databases to test.

Here you can see the Unique ID at the bottom of my screenshot. You should be able to copy that on your website alert for your report.
