I just would like to inform about a weird update behavior that happened today.
1- Installed Avast without any problem today.
2- After install it started the scan of the auto runs
3- After the scan was completed it popup telling that the update was successfully done to the vps 20140407-0 (however the last vps avaliable for today is 20140411)
4- I started a manual update, it kept saying that the vps 20140407 was already updated.
5- Restarted the computer
6- Started another manual update and now it found the last vps and updated to 20140411 successfully.
The only comment I have is that after a new install it often takes a couple of computer re-boots to get everything sorted and settled - that is what you may have experienced.
Yes, I experienced the same thing. I noticed that my avast signatures were dated apr 09, when I clicked update, it told me that it was up to date…I haven’t rebooted yet, though.
Must be servers. My niece’s sys, Vista, had VPS 140409-4 and avast! said everything was good. Repair did not fix it and I have to download the whole manual update to have VPS 140411-1 installed. Will see if it updates VPS automatically tomorrow.
yeah, I also used the vpsupd.exe updater, let’s see if it updates tomorrow.
Oh, another thing. I just assembled a new pc, installed OS, software, etc. Finally, I installed avast, then updated using the latest vpsupd.exe to v. 140411-1 and connected the PC to the internet. To my surprise, avast “updated”… to the same version!!! pop up and sound notification and all!!!
