I would like to know what are the main differences because AVG and Avast are based on the same code, is one better in something, etc. I am using Avast One for now and want to get the best INTERNET security, all tips are helpful.

They are now part of the same large Parent company GenDigital along with a couple of other antivirus products - Interestingly there are many Avast components living under the Skin of the AVG brand.
I would say Avast, but then again what do I know - I have only been using Avast Antivirus for a little over 20 years

Pretty much so, though it is a very very long time ago that I used AVG - probably win95 era.
I suspect that the major differenced are in the User Interface and shield names.
