I keep getting these popup windows named Qtrax and or sponsorship. They pop up all the time and are a real pain. I’ve looked around at different sites that claim they have a fix but it usually requires downloading something which is probably where I got this infection. Has anyone else ever run across this and if so, how did you get rid of it? I have Avast downloaded and run updates twice a week but when I run a scan it never comes up with anything. I also use SUPERAntiSpyware Pro and it also does not pick it up. I run an XP machine that is loaded with Firefox and Chrome but use Firefox 99% of the time.
I was wondering if the Avast support team is working on a fix for this?
[]Right-mouse click JRT.exe and select “Run as Administrator” the tool will open and start scanning your system
[]please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system’s specifications
[]On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
[]post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.
This is not related to Firefox. I use Chrome and IE, and only IE is infected with this virus. Avast does not recognize or remove it. I am using the latest Avast Internet Security v130828-0 updated 8/23/2013.
Will Avast be putting a fix in for this?
[*]Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
[*]When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
[*]Attach both logs
