Avast detected a virus while I was typing and, of course, it stole focus and the warning message immediately disappeared because of one of the key strokes.
How can I find out what I did?
The log viewer shows me a record of the warning message but not the action that was taken.
Which is the file path and name? Which is the virus name?
Can’t you check manually if the file is still there in your computer?
If you open avast Chest, is the file there?
09-03-10 10:38:35 SYSTEM 1732 Sign of “HTML:Script-inf” has been found in “Incoming email ‘Update Your Online Banking Security Billing Profile’ From: Halifax Bank Plc online_service@halifax.co.uk, To: {my e-mail address here}” file.
The chest is empty.
I can’t see the e-mail in my inbox.
I’m not worried because it’s obviously gone and my computer is still clean. (Apart from the big issue of focus stealing) I feel this is a weakness of the Avast logging - it really should say what was done in response to the threat, shouldn’t it?
