What does Infection detected! for Webshield mean?

This is the first time I ever came across this message:

Infection detected! [in red]
avast! Web shield has detected a threat.
Infection: URL:Mal
URL: http://www.dsply.com/index.php?ub=…(way too long)

I have also attached the image of it.

Does that indicate that the malware has been blocked? Or has an infection occurred in my mac.
Although I’m kind of leaning toward that it is blocked since I can’t find any trace of that malware. But I just want to confirm that the message was indeed a threat blocked rather than an infection. The pop-up being red feels like an infection more than a block. Please someone help me confirm this >.< And put my heart at ease. Thanks a bunch people! :slight_smile:

This is a very common infection at the moment even under Windows:)

Mmm, thanks for the reply. However, does that mean it is infected or blocked? I’m a bit concern now. I just can’t get through the ambiguity. Though, a few scans came up clean. But still…

Hello, dsply.com is FalsePositive. Now it was fixed.
Please update your virus definitions.

I also am receiving an Infection Detected. And it pops up whenever I go to a new URL, or sometimes multiple times while I’m just reading your forum. It says:
Infection: JS:lframe-DHY [Trj]
URL: http://gntcdn.com/js_f.php?
{long and irrelevant, since I am not and as far as I can determine never have been to gntcdn.com}
File: {gzip}

Having many of these blocking screen real estate is a problem. Having them come back almost as fast as I can eliminate them is a pain.

Can you help me get rid of them?

I’m using Firefox 28.0 on a Powerbook Pro running OSX 10.7.5.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
