Firstly, sorry about my bad english skills (thank god for Google translator).
Avast scanner (free version) found this trojan ( Win32:Hupigon-ONX [Trj] ) from my brothers computer during the whole-computer-search. Infected files were computers c-partion-backup files (.pgi) made by Drive image 2002. Files were size about 1,400,000 kt each. Those coundn´t be cleaned and scanner deleted the files. We made another scan. Full scan didn´t found anything so we made new backup files… they were infected right away with that trojan. So it hides somewhere and Avast couldn´t find it .
My question is: what kind of files does Hupigon infect? Wiki said that it hides inside executable file? Only those?? I mean, I thought we format the harddrive and install windows/software from the start. But there are some files (doc, xls, jpg, mp3, mp4, avi) that don´t have backups. Is it safe to transfer those to usb drive and copy back after new intalled Windows? Does Hupigon spread inside all files or just certain file types (like those executable)?
