What FIREWALL program does Avast recomend? (Prof V4.8)

I’m setting up a new laptop. So to do this right, and after updating XP pro, I installed
Avast Professional V4.8. Now, I’d like to install a good FIREWALL program that will
work (in harmony) with Avast. I searched their website and could not find any
comments or recommendations on what to use. What’s a good one to install?

Try searching “firewall” in the “General Topics” forum for plenty of opinions.

I’m currently using Windows XP Firewall but have had good experiences with PC Tools.

My recommendation would be Online Armor,
but since you said “a new laptop” I must suppose that there will be Vista installed on it, right?
In that case you would have to use Comodo, since Online Armor is not yet ready for Vista systems.
Both firewalls mentioned, ie Comodo and Online Armor are at present the best guard, both complete with efficient HIPS guard, so together with Avast you will be perfectly protected against any mishaps.

I’ve heard in the past that Avast is working on a firewall.

Is there any time line on this development?
