what happened to my blue wirling ball

There is a rolling notification for users of 4.8 to update to 5.0, with over 100 million users they have to balance the server load.

You can of course download the latest avast 5.0.418 and install it.

Would that be your recomendation? It seems as if some folks are resentful of their choice to update…

There are always some that are apposed to change.
IMHO, the only ones who can’t update are those running an operating system before Windows XP.
Any one who uses windows XP and above should be using avast! 5. You get a lot more for the same price… FREE
