What happened to the old Avatars

Is there a way to restore the Avatars many of us had used and/or created on the old Avast Forum? Is there a way to bring them over to the new forum?

Thanks Craig.

You’re welcome :+1:

If you can’t find what you want at Craig’s link, I have an archive of avatars from the old forum. There’s a dated photo of you and Alice in there. Let me know if you’d like a copy.

Thanks for the offer. The problem appears to be that you can’t use an actual photo as your Avatar.

You’re welcome, and thanks for info re: not using photo. That would explain why I couldn’t set my own avatar, which is a photo.

I ended up using a satirical cartoon someone created of me at one of the conferences I attended many years ago while still doing my Cybersecurity Presentations for Avast.

But it’s a .png. Isn’t that considered a photo format?

But it’s not a photograph of an actual person. .png or .jpg isn’t what matters.

I see, thank you!

Old avatars were replaced due to advancements in technology, evolving user preferences, and platform updates. As design trends improved and more customizable options became available, older avatars became outdated and less compatible with modern systems, prompting platforms to adopt newer, more interactive avatar designs.

Is that an explanation or a political statement? My old avatar was an image of a picture of my Wife and I. How is that outdated and less compatible?
