What is happend with Avast?

Hello,

Last week a couple of backdoors slipped in my computer, never never had this before, I am using Avast now for more then 3 years …

I try to install AVG next to it, but Avast is walking on one leck … and I don’t feel myself happy, I love Avast but:
What is going on with Avast, are you sleeping? are you tired? must I pay for it now?

If so tell me, If you give me the garant NO backdoors or virussen again, I will think about it … But the last week I am lost in the world of virussen and backdoors… What is happend with my Avast? everything ok?

Having two av’s on one system is many times causing major problems with one or evne both of them. Remove avg and keep Avast I would say. Check how you have setup Avast. And use a firewall.

And remember, there is no av that detects all malware!

Yep, I did already ::slight_smile: I am using a firewall Zonealarm pro, adware etc etc…

Windows XP pack2 advice me too… Avast they know other one not ;D

Thanks for your replay and if I can catch the backdoors must I send them by what to you? maybe you can put them in the database?
But I am not a expert, only a newby :-[

Don’t let the word “evangelist” fool you. I am not working for Alwil, I’m just like you. Just a user of Avast ;D

If you find the infected files that Avast is not recognizing scan them with JOTTI if only 1 or two av’s sees them as infected, they may be false positives.

If you want to send them to Alwil for analyzing/adding to the vps, send them in a password protected zip file to virus@avast.com mention of course what is happening and the password in the email.

Never send a (suspected) infected file to anyone, you never know what they will do with it. Only exception is when someone from Alwil ask you to send it. You can recognize them very easy. Left side of the screen above the Avatar there will be “Alwil member”.
