I would like to know too. Even Avast VPN related scheduled tasks/services connects to it when Avast AV is not installed. What is the purpose of it?

Thanks, some Reddit user was complaining about “spyware” as NextDNS was showing huge number of blocked entries from this address. Apparently he’s using too aggressive DNS block list which just blindly includes this address…
