I’ve been hearing of it for a while now, I just looked it up and had download beta.
Is this something anyone can download or is it another OS? Please explain =o

Windows 7 is the next OS from Microsoft. (the follower of Vista)
Its currently in an official Beta-phase and will probably be released at the end of 2009.
You can find many information on the internet according to Windows Seven (for example Google).

So, you buy the operating system then you have to download windows 7 onto it or something? I was hoping it was a download which changed your comp and made it faster

No, Windows 7 can’t be downloaded. It is the operational system itself. It will substitute Vista or XP.
-= Well, the Beta could be downloaded before [Microsoft stopped the distribution of betas]… But still, upon installation, it will not be installed on your XP/Vista but rather replace XP/Vista or install it on another partition to enable dual boot which allows you to choose what OS you will run at startup…
