What should be the default behavior while inserting a new SIM card?

Yesterday I could change my SIM card for a new one.
I’ve turned off the phone, change the SIM, started again.
I was surprised that the unlock page pulled up normally. I’ve thought that the phone will be blocked by avast! since from the beginning.
Then I could use the phone normally…
I’ve opened avast! and then it recognized and added the SIM card to the while list (as I’ve added the correctly avast! password).

  1. What happens if the phone is not blocked by a PIN/password?
  2. Even using it, shouldn’t the phone be blocked since from starting?
  3. If it is a little later, shouldn’t it block any further activity after giving the correct PIN?

I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 and everything into avast! antitheft is set to be blocked…
I’ve got disappointed…

Can I remove a SIM card from the whitelist and test it again?

Not a comment?

Hi,

are you sure you didn’t insert the SIM into your phone earlier?

Filip

Sure… I was at the shop buying it…

You can try it again by clearing the SIM list (pres “menu” button on the AAT dashboard) and reinserting the second SIM.

Filip, I’ve tried it again.
Now it worked this way: I need to way some seconds after the start page (login) appear. The phone start the audible alert.

Seems last time I just type the password too quickly for avast! to jump.
After having logged in, some seconds, I’ve started avast! and the SIM card was added.
Seems I did not way the necessary time for the alert to jump.
Could it explain what happened?

Sure, that might be. If you replaced your SIM with a restart of your phone, it takes some time before all the apps are up and running after the device boot up (much like on Windows) and this can be up to minutes based on the apps you have installed.

Filip

Ok. I’m glad to be safe now
