Antivirus: NOD32 :-[ (got 14 months license for free)
Firewall: Windows XP SP2 Firewall
Anti-spyware: None
I was also using like 5 different types of anti-spyware but some day i simply removed them all since all they ever detected were some stupid tracking cookies.
So no need for them. Firefox or Opera somehow remove any need for anti-spyware tools if you also at least check the source of software you just downloaded…
Antivirus: Avast Home
Firewall: keep changing that all the time but i am currently on Comodo + i am behind a hardware firewall(router)
Antispyware(anti malware is the better word here): Ad-Aware , Spybot S&D , Ewido , a2 , HijackThis(these are for scanning) for resident protection i use System Safety Monitor(HIPS) and SpywareBlaster(avast is resident too of course)…
avast! Pro is resident
Bitdefender Free for second opinions
Ewido
Spybot S&D with TeaTimer enabled
AdAware
Spyware Blaster
WinPatrol
Zone Alarm Free
all behind a firewall router
I also have A-Squared, MS Antispyware, and Clamwin AV installed. I keep them updated but rarely use them anymore.
Simple plain hammer… when I see something is trying to enter my computer I like to smash it with my hammer. That way I don’t have to worry about recovery of all those damaged files and folders. ;D
I’m so bloody paranoid I use every possible program I can afford + All the free programs I can get my hands on. I keep nothing important on my computer it’s all in a box under my bed http://pro.imagehost.biz/ims/pictes/209167.gif
Avast Pro resident
ClamWin
Spybot
Spywareblaster
Microsoft Beta
Sunbelt Firewall
PS: I have been trying out Netscape 8.1, Which has a spyscanner built into the browser.
I don’t know how good it is.
I have used it twice each time it has said I have spyware on the computer.
All the rest comes up clear.
Yes… and you my friend, forgot to mention what you told me few months ago… you also hired 4 body guards to guard your PC while you are away. So if something even try to enter your computer they will give it a good punching and kicking.
Also, those piles of potatoes as a barrier, true natural, 100% bio firewall… although it’s not freeware one, but it’s effective… even if something passes through that barrier, you can always pick up some of those potatoes and start throwing them at those pests… ;D
Just yesterday it looked like I was gona catch a flue and my friend suggested (him knowing my scanning habbits) that I incorporate the real-life instead of real-time scanning engine
