No, I don’t think something is wrong with that thread, but there is some suspicious link in very first post in that thread…
On the other hand, take a look how strange is that thread’s form… everything is shifted to far right without any visible reason… no huge attached pictures, nothing…
Just passed through the same thread. I’m right now using NOD32 until avast! 4.5 final is out (if i’ll be able to wait that long ) and i didn’t get anything (settings are maxed out). But i’m using firefox…
Erm, I’d suggest to reread the thread announcing avast 4.5
It will be released the next Saturday (13. 11.), not tomorrow… I hope you can stand another week
I think that you need to read that thread again, I believe that it’s next Saturday (the 13th), not tomorrow. I made a comment about releasing software on the 13th.
Edit RejZor and Igor were faster, I must go on that speed typing course, or use more than two fingers ;D
The malware/trojan/virus is still in that thead, avast goes crazy at me aswell, but only in IE (even with scripting and java disabled), but my firefox browser works fine, this just reasured me that Firefox is clearly the more security inhanced browser, i mean i have hardly touched the settings in firefox, i think this SP2 IE is a bit over rated.
Thanks Igor and RejZor for that information, but again… I’m not the one who is impatient ;D That was RejZor, remember ? He said he can’t wait… I’m Ok with the fact that 4.5 is comming out on next Saturday, not tomorrow. I can wait, like always… even better, because now I know we will have enough time to update all those skins in avast! skins download section
I don’t have problems with that thread any more. Since someone (I guess it was Igor) “cleaned” it, everything is OK…
Maybe it was someone’s intention in the first place… ??? Who knows what can happen these days… Maybe someone tried to show that avast! actually is spreading viruses or trojans, and it’s not that good in fighting against them…
But, I’ve noticed something wrong with that thread, so I alarmed everyone… better safe than sorry…
Well, I’d say it was rather scary than dangerous (and I believe it was not an intention). I think that the post contained only pieces of the malware code (not whole). Besides that, it was included as “text” in the page - i.e. there was no danger that the browser would execute the code anyhow.
