Few days ago I was hit with a backdoor.bot virus along with 3 rogue viruses. I ran several Malwarebytes scans, but it was unable to remove the 4 viruses. I just did a boot scan with Avast, which stated that my File C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SRTSP\Quarantine\APQ1000.tmp is infected by win32:Jifas-FM [Trj]. It gave me 8 options to Delete, Delete All, Move to Chest, Move All to Chest, Repair, Repair All, Ignore, and Ignore All. I’m rather new to all of this, so which option should I do? And what is the Chest?
Chest is the virus quarantine of avast. It seems like you are using 2 antiviruses, please leave only one installed (avast or Norton)
The presence of Norton/Symantec is likely to be the cause of these alleged malicious files.
There is also a chance that there is a real infection present.
You will only know once one of the AV’s has been correctly uninstalled. A removal tool should be run. Find appropriate removal tools here.
Well I already had the 4 viruses before I put on Avast. I put on Avast because my friend told me to use to scan my computer, since malwarebytes wasnt working
Uninstall Norton, then, run the removal tool, and scan again.
