I have a new hp dv7 with the i7 processor and 8 gigs of ram that has been acting up. I ran a boot time scan and everything came back clean except for a false positive. when using my computer the program in use will freeze up and become unresponsive. When I press ctrl+alt+del the windows screen comes up but when i select task manager nothing happens. It just goes right back to my desktop. So i restart the computer and try to access the task manager and everything works fine. This has happened at least 5 times today…any guesses as to what might be going on here?
ran a quick scan with malwarebytes and found backdoor.bifrose could this be the culprit?
can someone please help here
could you post the Malwarebytes log ?
I have a new hp dv7.......you did remove any preinstalled AV before installing avast ?.....hp usually come with a 60/90 day Norton Since running multiple AV can create all kind of windows errors and False Positive detections... it is also recomended to run a removal tool so any leftovers are gone
run and reboot - Uninstallers for Security Software

do you still have problems after Malwarebytes scan ?
If so, follow the guide here, and attach OTL / aswMBR logs…not copy and paste
