When does Avast plan to fix the manual update problem?

Soon I hope.
Pls advise.
Many thx

  • Which problem do you have…??
  • Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS)
  • Which version…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??

I also have problem with the manual update.(it hangs in saving package and now it hangs in initialization)
avast free 7 final. (clear installation)
win 7 32 bit all updates(sp1)
i have only avast.
P.s. i didnt open a new thread as is sounds similar problem to me.

Which problem do you have…??
-------It doesn’t work. It hangs. It won’t even initialize.

Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS)
-------Free 7.0.1407
--------(The last version 6 stopped updating, too. That’s what caused me to seek, find & download the new
----------version 7)

Which version…??
-------Free 7.0.1407

OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
-------32 bit…

The point is, everything was working fine, until–without any other changes to my system–Avast Free 6, failed to manually update. So, I downloaded Avast Free 7. 7 will not manually update either. Clearly, with so many people having the same problem, there must be a bug @ the Avast end.
Hence, when does Avast plan to fix it?

Pls advise.
Thx again.

If it’s the same with both 6 and 7 and a clean install won’t solve it either, than this is a server problem.

for me both manual virus update and programme update are stuck at initializing. i think its a server problem cause it was updating fine 1 day ago

system spec: windows 7 32bit sp1

running programmes kingsoft pc doctor v3.3, comodo firewall v5.9, iobit smart defrag

i still get streaming updates every now and then

+1

Avast v6 running. No manual update possible, stuck at initializing.

Problem is that I have the impression Avast didnt update today at all, also not automatically.

My database says 120226-4.

Well, I’m at 120227-0.

quote from lukas.hasik:

'we are working on the fix. All the updates were broken due to broken vpx package uploaded to the servers. It has nothing to do with the version 7.

Sorry about that
Lukas.’
