When Microsoft discontinues security updates for Windows 10 on October 25 will Avast still provide continuing and updated support?
I think they will, for a while. I see it still installed on Windows 7 computers at some older installations. But that is for Avast CloudCare, but I think the engine is the same.
You just have to look at history when MS discontinued support for Windows XP - it isn’t all that long ago that Avast withdrew support for XP.
Some however have managed to install an old version of Avast pre 1.8 but some have been able to get virus definition updates. Though that isn’t guaranteed.
I’m still using XP and am in no immediate rush for Windows 11 as ultimately it will mean a new system as mine won’t support Win11.
Looks like Microsoft stopped supporting XP about 10 years ago so if Avast kept providing security for that long I also am in no rush to switch to W11 as long as Avast will provide security. Thanks for that information
I think win10 users should be OK for some time, when you look at the numbers of win10 users, compared to win11, win10 far exceed win11 users. So much so that MS have stopped talking about win12, hoping the hangouts on win10 will jump to win11, rather than wait for win12.
