Where can I find a list of block reason codes?

Whenever Avast blocks a connection to a website, it gives reason why it did so in a notification. I’ve seen the reason vary and some like URL:SCAM are self explanatory others not so much. I’d be interested in having a full list of all possible codes at hand together with an explanation.

PS: Is there a way to dial the blocking behaviour in a bit finer? Maybe on a reason basis instead of a site by site basis?

If you are looking at the code at the bottom of the Avast Alert window, that is unique to that detection.

If you are simply talking about the URL:SCAM it isn’t to difficult to figure that one out the URL is susPected/confirmed to have run Scams.

URL:SCAM is an example I had on top of my mind when I made the thread. There are others that are more cryptic and I couldn’t find a list explaining them.

There are many different codes and for the most part there of this style which are a generalisation Scam threat at this URL, etc.

There are literally millions over 21 million (see attached image) of malware/virus detections in the virus definitions on your system.
So there is no database that I’m aware of outside of the virus labs team, but display in Alerts will generally fall into this type of naming.

Let’s try this from another angle then. Can I whitelist by blocking reason, eg let URL:SCAM through while keeping URL:MaliciousScript blocked?

The short answer is no.
That however is a huge risk, given the generic nature of the malware name.

You can exclude a specific website (if you except the risk that involves).

I’m awaiting your long answer with bathed breath. Please include the originally requested list.

As an Avast User, just like you, I don’t have that list, as I said “here is no database that I’m aware of outside of the virus labs team.”
