Where does Avast! website show current official program version?

Sorry, these are probably right in front of me, however, the current program version and virus update versions used to be shown on the old website. I’ve managed to find the virus update release history but cannot find the latest official program version (not beta).

Could someone please post a link?

Thanks…

Thanks, disPlay. I’ve already found that link for the virus updates, however, where is the latest program version shown?

I too want program change log back, as it was in old site.

There isn’t such place…hopefully we will get such page soon.

Best place to read about new version is in the forum.

Really? Well at least my old age is not the cause! Thanks to all for setting me straight and I would think having the current program version/virus defs in a conspicuous place would be a good idea. JMO…

At time of this posting…

  • The latest program version is 5.0.594
  • The latest VPS is 100706-1

It certainly is if you right click on the avast! logo in the Taskbar then Open avast! user interface

John_E in your signature you still are using Avast! 4.8.1368 when avast V5.0.594 is available ???

Hi Kenny,
it seems he’s still using 4.8
See his sig…!

Edit: Never mind, as you already saw it…

Vista users need special encouragement. :-*

Let’s hope then he returns here and reads the ‘news’…!

He’s not asking what the GUI of an installed Avast! shows. He wants to know why the website does not show what the version number you are about to download is. Maybe he’s concerned that Avast! may be as slow as Comodo is at updating the download links to new versions. ;D

Maybe…
But we also told him about the latest version…
So hopefully he’ll download and use it…!

OK, guys! I’m guilty as charged of not joining the 5.x party yet. I’ve been following the forums since the release so am well aware of 5.x and will take the leap soon. I’m just a slow, cautious person who does not jump into any new program.

I do appreciate you both pointing out the error of my ways.

Kenny - I’m assuming the screen shot is showing what version is installed on your machine or in 5.x is that the current official version available. The latter is what I’m looking for.

Thanks to all for your advice.

You’re welcome…!
Hope to see you on 5.x soon…

You can be pretty much assured that the version offered for download is the most current one but even if it isn’t, it will allow you to update if needed.
