Where to copy my free license key for offline installation

hi guys,
I installed avast 30 days ago and now the program tells me I’m not safe anymore.
Avast sent me a license key but I can’t figure out where to put it.
Under settings and registration I daon’t have the sub-setting OFFLINE REGISTRATION.
My version is 170411.

So I guess I have two question:
where to put my free key to activate avast for free for 12 month OFFLINE??
and am I really unprotected because I didn’t enter the key??

Thanks for helping out.
I’m on Windows 7…

Cheers,
Mika

Licensing gets reworked, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=198923.0

thanks!
unfortunately I din’t find an answer to the two question.
am I still protected, even if I wasn’t able to put in the key offline?

Follow the link and post/ask there.

Since that topic is directly related to the beta channel I don’t believe it should be posted there.

Also that topic is more informative than help related and is in the Beta - Avast sub-forum. If the user isn’t using the beta channel and this appears to be the case he should continue the topic in this Avast Free Antivirus / Pro Antivirus / Internet Security/ Premier. sub forum.

I don’t know if the old off-line registration works now or not, certainly the old link to download the email with the off-line registration is still there the UI doesn’t appear to change to allow inserting of the free off-line registration number.

I don’t know if the OP has linked his (presumably they have one to be able to use the forums) installation to his my.avast.com account.

I would also query his avast version as it looks more like like a Virus Definitions number “My version is 170411”

Hi Dave, in all short, we need an answer from the team.
This question gets asked over and over again. Cheers.

It is real simple.
Install the latest version > settings > subscription > click on register
There is no need to supply a email address or anything else.

Eddy, please reread the thread, we’re talking about offline installations/registrations here.

I would certainly agree with that as I rather doubt that off-line registration isn’t required/abandoned, then this needs to be made clear.
Or there would be no point in a 30 day trial either just auto register for one year.

If it were truly an off-line installation they couldn’t link it to their my.avast.com account if it could be registered that way.
Clarity on avast no longer requiring registration is required and certainly how a system that is off-line can register.
