Which avast Free versions are still supported? and for how long?

A general enquiry to which avast! Free products are still supported? (ie. VDB or program updates)

  • Avast 4.8 Free/Pro
  • Avast 5.x Free/Paid
  • Avast 6.x Free/Paid

Thanks for you any information you have regarding these software.

at the moment all recive Virus update … 4.8 is running on overtime
but only 7 recive program update

I believe 4.8 is unsupported by the end of the year and the 5 and 6 versions will still recieve vps, program updates would obviously bring you up to the latest 7 versions which would be the optimium choice as there is no benefit staying with the older versions.

The scheduling was (not confirmed yet) set the deadline to December, 2012.

Is Avast 4.8 still supported with VPS updates, or not ?
