Which web browser is King!!!

 For those who want to use third party browser you can review the latest test by Extreme Tech.and if you want to comment post you opinion if you believe on those test!!!thanks in advance for your comments!!! ;D this is the link http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2335242,00.asp

Hmmm… I think this is a work to Polonus and not for me

I have used Firefox for a few years after trying Opera before that and Google Chrome just lately, and Firefox is indeed King. I don’t need no test to review at this point, FF has enough time on the job to be its own test. I won’t mention IE.

What is interesting is the Acid3 part of the test. Both Chrome and safari fail the test. However the latest WebKit builds pass Acid3, so both of them have an out of date build of the WebKit engine :-[.

EDIT: Here is a screenshot of the Acid3 test run on the nightly Webkit Build as of Nov 28

I hate it when they base something like this so heavily on one criteria speed, as they acknowledge in the final paragraph of the article.

There is no doubt chrome was fast, but for me the browsing experience it was pants (sorry about getting technical).

;D you said upon unistalling google chrome it left many remnants can you tell where i can find those left behind in my system XP

Chrome is very fast but it doesn’t give the users so much control. Opera is, good at many aspects and all-rounded but score in the test doesn’t reflect it. I am puzzled by Acid3 test since the latest Iron Portable scores 98% or so on my machine.

Use [color=blue][b][u]Iron Portable next time, it doesn’t leave rubbishes.

I can’t recall of hand but check and see if anything is left in the Program Files folder or the Documents and Settings User folders.

;D thanks for the info ;D

You’re welcome.

in terms of security it would be probably this way (left most secure)

Opera, FireFox3, Chrome, Flock2, SeaMonkey, IE8b2+, (Maxhton2, Avant and other IE shells improving security over default IE7), IE7

taste of users may differ depending if they want more modules or just plain secure browser etc …

What makes you rank seamonkey less secure than Firefox? They use the same engine.

Opera is the most secure browser, but I’d put Iron ahead of Chrome. There is a lot of mistrust of Google for privacy issues in Chrome. ::slight_smile:

Firefox is for people that like suites, I prefer separate programs. I like the Forecast Fox extension in ff, but it’s better to have a separate program like Weather Watcher. I use Opera for surfing the web. ;D

My bank and favorite restaurant have an agreement, the bank doesn’t flip burgers & the restaurant doesn’t make loans. ;D ;D ;D

To me the best and most secure browser that I know of Is Firefox, maybe not right after the install but with all the security ad-ons is what makes it the most secure to me

I love these kind of threads. Kind of like the old arguments we use to have as kids about who made the best muscle cars. Ford, Chevy, or Dodge? No one ever won the argument, but we were always passionate about our choices…

;D hi orange crate thanks to your opinion.Yeah you are right no one wins but i need your valuable comments and I appreciate a lot.

Any browser you like.As long as It’s under the supervision of SandboxIE. ;D

Well, you can see from my signature that I use Firefox.

I’ve tried Opera, and a couple of Linux browsers. I haven’t used any Microsoft products for several years now, so I can’t comment on the newer versions of Internet Explorer.

In a nutshell, I’ve been using Firefox since version 0.something, and old habits are hard to break. Firefox for me is like an old pair of jeans. Very comfortable.
