OK, this is an update… again…

Skin is completely finished and tested… everything works fine, and I’m happy how everything looks at the end.

Main panel design is slightly changed, just because that plain black area on the right side of the skin is too empty… especially when sliding panels are not activated. That’s why I put nice silhouette of our beloved planet Earth. It looks much better this way, and also I like the look when sliding panels are activated…

Sasha, a suggestion: besides the black colour, maybe the users want other ones, blue, red…
Is it possible to use the same skin elements and just change the color? Won’t we have two (or more) similar skins but different ones for different tastes?

Well, I’m affraid it’s not “just change the color”… There are many little parts (each skin is made of tens and sometimes even hundreds little graphic pieces)… that would mean that I have to change all of them, plus some values inside skin builder for different font colors and some other things… little to much work to do…

I think there are some very colorful skins in download section already, so this time I wanted to make something for all those dark-theme lovers…

Also, I don’t think Alwil would allow uploading of 3 versions of exactly the same skin… :-\

I have one (never completed, nor used) small website hosted by an italian provider called “sitomastro”. If Sasha says to me what I must do to host his skins for make its downloadable for all, I will host the files. Unfortunately I’m not an expert about this argument. It actually confirms what I was thinking. So in my view, the XP translucent option is simply a way to use transparency between applications windows.

I’m sorry, but it would be practically waste of time redoing something that is already done :-\ . However, even if I decide to redo whole skin from the scratch, I really don’t believe that Alwil guys would upload it to the download section… again - it’s practiacally exactly the same skin. Many people requested some kind of minimal dark skin, so I gave them this one. I believe it’s dark enough, and I also believe it’s smallest skin of all those skins in download section.

Believe me my friend, I completely understand you. If you are using some of those ultra-high resolutions, skin is really small, especially those letters. But, that’s the problem with this skinning engine… it’s not possible to make resizeable skin with these tools we use, at least I’m not aware of any possibility.

Anyway, I’m sure there are some other nice skins in download section, little bit bigger than this particular one… and I believe you’ll find something that you like and that fits nice your screen resolution. Believe me, it’s a lot of work, and I personally think it would be much more productive to spend it on creating brand new skin.

I only like the “Silhouette_4in1” and “Black Vibe”, so I will use the “Silhouette_4in1” on my 1400x1050.
This the best resolution for my Laptop…
