Hello All -
I’m totally out of my element here. Were I to be surveyed, I would probably answer that a dll is a misspelled kind of pickle! Which is why I really need some answers.
I just received an email, ostensibly from someone named Jason who sent me a post card from hXXp://eternXXXXXalgreetingcard.com/?cardid=3440002c1a. Thank you, ecards4free.com team.
I googled ecards4free and found it is legitimate, but there was also something about eternalgreetingcard.com on a Google forum. It was mentioned almost as an afterthought because the main cause for concern was a virus called whitewhitechristmas. From what I can figure out (not much, believe me!), this virus is somehow affiliated with ecards4free.com.
These people apparently ran this virus through a number of antivirus programs, AVAST! included, and hardly any (including AVAST!, picked up on the virus.
Right now I am operating under the assumption that I have an unopened viral email that AVAST! is as yet unprepared for, so I am giving you . . . someone . . . anyone a “heads-up” and also wishing to find out what I should do about the email in question.
I am also operating under the assumption that by now you must realize that as far as any form of technology is concerned, if you put me in a darkened room with a flashlight, candle, and book of matches, I would probably rub the flashlight and candle together!!! That totally being the case, here is the page in question:

Thanks for any light you can shed on this (No pun was originally intended, but I’ll take anything I can get! : )

Upon previewing, I realized I inadvertantly brought that thing with me. Since I don’t know how to “defuse bombs”, would someone kindly do whatever needs to be done to give that thing an “inert” status for me. Sorry. Being a simpleton can really be dangerous to everyone in the general vicinity! I’ll try to make my visits here as infrequent as possible. Thanks Again.
