I have put on my PC, Avast4Home since a few months and I was satisfied but I have try another virus cleaner on housecall.antivirus.com (Trend Micro) which find “BAT_BOTFTP.GEN” (this is associated with the WORM_RBOT FAMILY). This worm is install on C:\windows\system32\o and Trend Micro said it is’nt cleanable.
Who can help me and tell me why Avast4Home could’nt find this worm ?
On Jotti’s malvare, BitDefender have find “Backdoor.BotGet.FtpB.Gen” and Kaspersky Anti-Virus have find “Trojan-Downloader.BAT.Ftp.c” with C:\windows\system32\o
Now, I know that it’s a true malware !!!
If someone can help me to eradicate this problem, I shall be happy
So I understand than there are many names for one virus !
That is correct. THIS SITE may be of use to you.
If you wonder about what Avast is ‘currently’ able to detect, have a look HERE and check out the virus database.
Who knows if Avast can stop Sdbot
Have a look at the 2 sites I mentioned and you will see that there are 'tons' of variants for the sdbot. (unfortunatly) So your question isn't one who makes sense if you not say what exact variant of the sdbot you are talking about. ;)
I assure you nevertheless that it is well Trend Micro on Housecall.antivirus.com which found “BAT_BOTFTP.GEN” on my
microcomputer.
I am not able to say to you by which version of Sdbot I was infected
because the only information obtained with BitDefender and Kaspersky
is that which I communicated on 9 January at 6 a.m. 38.
I did not have more information when I cleaned my PC with Stinger. It
simply detected 2 malevolent files and deleted.
I go tried to find of which Sdbot version it acts but I do not promise
to reach that point.
