Hello,
I don’t understand why avast for Mac is unable to scan some files… What if those files unable to scan for avast contains malware or something? :o

Hello,
if you right click on the results page and select Unscannable (or something similar), you can see the reason why the files were unscannable. It can be malformed archives, files that can not be opened (system integrity protection prevents some files from being opened), etc.
Kind regards,

Many times these are files you do not have permission to access, or are corrupted in some way. If they did contain malware, its not likely to be a threat (but also not likely to contain it anyway in such a case)
Oh thank you! I didn’t know that
Then I still don’t understand if the .DMG is corrupted
Why I can install the app without any issue if a .DMG is corrupted?
Hello,
.dmg is a container that can use multiple internal data formats; it is possible that our unpack algorithm does not know the specific one you are using. If you got a time, could you upload the .dmg file somewhere (eg. google drive, dropbox) and send me link to ondrej.kolacek at avast.com? I will forward it to our virus lab guys.
Kind regards,
Ondrej Kolacek
