I am using Avast Pro 4.8. The about info from the task bar icon says, under the registration key, “Expiration: Friday, September 30, 2016 11:04:29 PM” and “Updates expiration: Friday, February 01, 2019 12:00:00 AM”. Now I get a pop-up message that says it about to expire and to update to version 5.0. Why? And when is my version 4.8 going to expire?
I do not want to use version 5.0 and do want to continue using Version 4.8. I see nothing on the Avast website that indicates version 4.8 will no longer be available. Is it going to continue to be supported?
Support for version 4.8 will end in few weeks (or months). Probably when version 5.1 gets gold and released.
You can upgrade your license key from 4.8 to 5.0 or you can free register version 5.
You might not want to change but we all have to move forward and for the better to, avast 5 has better detections than 4.8, faster scan speed’s and is lighter on your system resources, you might not like it but your computer will love it
Absolutely a cracked version as the max Pro licence is 3 years, so no wonder they don’t want to upgrade to avast5 as the license would get kicked out.
So either you have been conned by someone selling a pro version that has been a cracked license, or you know it is not legit, I will leave that up to the users conscience when asking for help with a cracked license.
If it is an invalid version, I sure didn’t know it. I guess I never really looked at the expiration dates. Thanks for letting me know - I’ll remove it immediately.
