Since I used the internet in a small hotel last weekend, I get pop-ups in Chrome, even though I’ve switched the Chrome pop-up blocking function on.
The pop-ups have url’s like the following:
http://hidcptqmerifcusymaqddcomolsujibeptsmycmqsrwgrcmywshgnfpjhcc.com/showme4.html. This looks suspect to me.
The advertisements shown in the pop-ups are related to trusted sites that I have visited before, e.g. http://www.studyabroadinamsterdam.nl/en/summerschool/index.aspx?gclid=CNzmu4f1ycoCFRKNGwodl2oBlQ.
My question: why does Avast not simply stop these pop-ups? I’ve the impression that my computer is infected, but the Avast program does not tell me so and does not help me to stop this annoyance.
What can Avast do, or should I do?
