Why is no longer possible do a custom install? (v. 24.5) offline installer
UPDATE: It is version 25.5. Could please someone from Avast team confirm, when this will be fixed?
You can do this: Menu → Settings → Troubleshooting → ADD/MODIFY COMPONENTS
Installer has no Menu → Settings → Troubleshooting → ADD/MODIFY COMPONENTS.
This can be done only after I install everything.
You can install everything, then do this first thing. You suffer an extra reboot.
Installing additional “features” can mess with system settings, which I want to avoid.
Nope. Not right.
What about 25.6. offline installer? Is still not possible do a custom install? Avast not communicate in this forum.
I see that the people who answer the questions we have here are forum users, but nobody says anything about the AVAST team.
I wonder if the AVAST team is reduced because there is no one to answer the questions we have? ![]()
Avast have only recently announced 25.5 and its offline installers.
I am unaware of 25.6, as that not been announced here on the forum yet as far as i know, except as a beta.
pueden incluir nuevamente la opción personalizar en el instalador, teniendo en cuenta que NO TODOS necesitamos o queremos las otras características
What about 25.8. offline installer?
Any news about this issue in 25.9?
I have the same issue with the latest offline installers. It installs on windows tons of unwanted crap with annoying popups - which has to be removed afterward by modifying the setup. That’s very awful.
We only need file system / virus, email and firewall protection on our systems - nothing more or less.
I find all these silly messages annoying, such as: ‘Your IP address is visible. This makes you visible to hackers, thieves and online snoopers.’
We have already purchased Premium on all computers (>50), so I expect the software to run smoothly in the background and not bother users with stupid messages.
If this behavior does not change, we will have to switch to another manufacturer.
After almost a year, I have to reopen this topic.
Recently, I had to perform a clean installation of Avast Free (version 26.3), and I was surprised to find that it is still not possible to choose a custom installation. The installer only offers a full installation, and any unwanted components can only be removed afterward via the uninstaller in Control Panel (using the “Change” option).
I would like to ask why this change was made. Is it an intentional decision, or could it be an issue with the installer?
Thank you for your response.
