why was my topic deleted. isnt this the general discussion section?
i post a certain antivirus test that i used (eicar test) and test many programs, and was telling you guy that other programs found it and not avast and wanted you guy to try it and see if im the only one getting it(sensitivity settings may play a part), so can someoen eplain why it was removed? because i place the name of the other programs?

There is no need to create an eicar test file and they also have to be created in a specific way otherwise it doesn’t match the signature. We also don’t want anyone posting a signature code on the forums (test file or otherwise) as the last thing that we would want is a topic/post possibly causing an alert.

That can be downloaded from the eicar.org site as that tests the web shield alert (using http connection), http://www.eicar.org/85-0-Download.html.

The whole point of the test file is just to confirm your AV alert function is working.

Thanks, davidR ;D, i’m apart of various forum and in the virus protection section i see alot of bias so im the one on there preaching about how good avast is :P, i came here with a test like that because someone created a thread with that test and showed how kaspersky and other anti virus found it an was saying avast had no use…so i came here to understand if it was the settings or what so i could respond to him.
i went to virustotal and uplaoded the file and they said kasperky and bitdefender and many other antivirus didnt add it to thier database so those guy were lying (only certain antimalware programs had it) ;D
