Why won't my Avast Security Password work?

My Avast Security won’t work and locks me out of most of it, and when I try to log into all the ways to get it changed that I have found online-it asks me for the password which I don’t have. In the Privacy Section there is no way to change the password there either. How do I sort the problem out?

Please provide more details, like what Avast product are you using, what OS etc.
Also screenshots would help understanding your issue.

Heres some details on what I believe is the same or very similiar issue. The password for the Avast program, is not the same as the password requested when you attempt to create a scan. To be clearer, it seems like there are more than one password required. I have seen nothing about a code being sent to email, or how to set, reset, or access the password requested to create a scan, which is on a timer. A similiar window with a timer also pops up when trying to access other aspects of Avast, and it asks for the unknown password. There is on the browser Avast, Account, Account Settings, all asking for different user names, mentioning email codes but not how to access or apply them. I will try to list these all in a follow up post. After these three windows I mentioned opened in the browser, it asked for another sign in, but then showed an error page. I will try to get the screen shots as they occur on my next go round. Thanks.

OK heres some pics and vids of whats happening. When screenshotting the videos, the password box does NOT show up. There are 3 different places it shows up so far, Create Scan, Go to Account - Settings, and Authorization is Required with the PW Box. I had to video off the phone to capture the PW Box come up,
Now what the heck??? I spent all this time getting this info, and new users cant upload attachments??? Wow.

well heres a link to a vid of the culprit. Hope I took the permissions off.
Cant do links either? No wonder this is a mess

Maybe new users cannot post screenshots more than 1 per post, for preventing SPAM.
I suppose you’re referencing that different passwords are needed for, like

  • Avast Antivirus (windows) itself
  • Avast Account
  • Avast Passwords Manager

After 3 posts or so (or maybe a few days) you should be able to post some.

Or you may try hXXps instead of https
