A while back my computer video would occasionally turn off for a number of seconds then start back up. There was also some hard crashes in windows. I found a fix for the windows crash. About the same time as that I also had Avast update. After I fixed the crash the video shutdown and startup stopped. So I thought that was it.
Today I updated Avast, couple hours later my Video shut down then started back up.
Well thanks to posting here the day the last video problem opccured I know how long ago it was. Happened again last night. Rare but if it happens when gaming I have to reboot the computer. At least the one time it happened when I was gaming.
I did notice something. Couple seconds before it went black I was scrolling down through a forum when the page lagged. It’s not the Browser. I recently changed from Chrome to Opera
Updated Video drivers today as well. This is the 3rd new update since this started.
Failed. Video crashed again. Video was playing but I had updated it. Only thing I know is it started happening on a major windows update. 18 I think, can’t do 19 because of my cpu.
Well it seems to be the windows update, I think. I figured it must be something that builds up. So every weekend I shut down my pc, wait 10s, then start it back up. No video crash since December 1st.
Nope. The video went down and that was for using reboots instead of my shutdown, wait, startup method. It also fits in with the timeframe of when I had constant uptime on my pc.
Welp, since my last post I haven’t had the wierd issue.
I did find a shortcut once I saw some info on a tech video on youtube. Since my pc doesn’t use the max amount of watts my power supply can send a charge remains active in the board. So I shutdown and flip the power switch, since something builds up in the ram to cause the error I need to blank it that way.
Got a massive amount easier once I switched my OS drive from HD to SSD (Finally!)
