WiFi?

Hi there,

When running XP MCE & being connected both via ethernet & Wifi, at times it dispalys an error " Connection Unsecured" than have to click on the icon & repair option that makes it secured again.

What could be the possible reasons, dual connectivity, weak WPA2 password?

Thanks.

Possibly a weak signal.

You can try updating your WAN card drivers, but I think it’s just going to be one of those “hit or miss” deals that just plain “happen” on wireless connections.

They’re fickle, at best.

you could also try a signal booster which might help increase the signal gain and distance.
Here’s just one of many links from a Google search:
http://www.amazon.com/Cisco-Linksys-WSB24-Wireless-B-Signal-Booster/dp/B000085BD7

That would work as well.

You could also use third-party firmware like dd-wrt, but purchasing a signal booster is much more ideal.

Trying to eliminate sources of interference could help too. Such things as fluorescent lights, microwaves, wireless telephones can all interfere. By placing them further away or moving your Wireless router to a room that is better suited to your devices using them could help reception.

Just a word of advise

If you are connecting to a public wifi, always use a VPN

I am using the dsl modem in my office running XP, it’s not a public wifi…what’s VPN?

You really don’t use google do you Yezinki?
