Is it possible that by running these two programs that the effectiveness or one or both might be compromised? Thanks in advance for your help. Peace!
Nope.
Note:
Spybot is weak compared to malwarebytes.
Spybot S&D is too oudated, bloated interface and scans taking forever…looks like a post command line UI from the 40’s… ;D I’ve used it…would never use it now. It’s out.
An old good boy. Nowadays I’ll use MBAM and drop S&D…
In my experience Malwarebytes only picked up anything on the first scan while SpyBot continues to flag on every scan. Excuse my ignorance, but what is MBAM? Thanks for your responses. Always appreciated.
Spybot S&D only found harmless cookies after the first scan for me.
I have not used it in over a year.
MBAM is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Download it then update it then run a Quick scan and let it remove all it finds:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Post its log here after it completes.
Run Secunia Online Software Inspector to see what applications are vulnerable:

I have used Spybot - S&D along with avast for many years without even one problem.
Spybot’s Teatimer module is useful for it’s protection of unwanted changes to a computer’s registry.
Thanks for all of your help. Peace!
MBAM is up to date, effective, and competent.
S&D is pretty much the original antimalware, and is still very much being developed and improved. I would not be too quick to write it off.
