will new program update honor exisisting install

By that I mean the last couple of updates havn’t, for instance, I don’t install any of that new virtual protection stuff, it bogs down the machine, and yet each time i have installed the update thru the program updater, it installs all those programs with out asking me, and i have to go and remove them all over again.

Hi Jay21317,

this is definitely weird, the turned off components shouldn’t install during update. Please try to disable the tools you don’t want via Settings->Tools.

Thanks
Martin

Well I will give it a shot and see what happens, I still think if your going to add new tools to the installer or even change those tools, the installer should tell us and let us choose if we want to install them, so as to avoid these types of issues.

That virtual stuff, bogged down all the machines in my house, when it installed with out any warning. and this machine has had it reinstall it self the last 2 update cycles.

Ran the update no issues this time, no idea what was causing it before.

I had the problem with the last update. This update still had problem, had to manually change again after update.

Well it did it again on an update from the UI of the last regular released version. Secure Virtual Machines was listed in the Tools section again even though I had previously removed it. This is is on a grossly under powered win7 netbook and I have so far had to go back into Programs and Features three times and remove it.

Someone A) needs to reassess the resources required to run NG and B) obviously resolve this issue of it being reinstalled when the setting isn’t there to start with.

EDIT: typo.
