Win 32: VB-DK [wrm]

Hopefully someone can assist me with this worm. I have a super scan with Avast setup that basically scans everything at maximum settings. Up until now I thought Avast was moving this to the chest and it just kept returning but now it looks like it was erroring and never succeeding. I have tried a boot time scan and it came back clean. Is this something to be worried about? A google search states the worm copies keystrokes.

The scan result is in the attached file.

Follow the instructions and attach the logs

You have performed a memory scan and hence the detection. You are not infected. The memory scan always creates some panics.I dont understand why is it there if it creates false detections. :stuck_out_tongue:

as True Indian say, the detection is a result of you playing with the scan settings. For a problem free avast operation, stick with default scan settings

While I’m certainly glad to hear that is this due to new settings from Avast? I’ve been using Avast for several years and just now noticed this file popping up. I’m willing to trust your judgement if it’s the case but it’s still troublesome to see.

In regards to the super scan I’ve created you may be right but I work in IT so I am very security conscious about my computer.

turn off memory scan and detection should be gone…it will give some weird detection results

I get that but wouldn’t you be wanting to scan memory for viruses in that location as well? It seems like the consensus is that it is harmless so I’ll take your word for it, especially since the boot scan came back clean but it still worries me.

to my knowledge memory scan is already part of the normal scan…so this is something extra. Never known exactly why it is there
when you get these detections, you will see that there is nothing you can do…as it is a process loaded in memory and not a file that you can quarantine / delete so the action button is grey

many users have played with those settings so you are not the first one to see this. remeber the avast guys have played with malware 24/7 for 20 years so there is a reason why the default settings are as they are
detection in memory is this forums second most asked question so plenty info if you forum search…
nr 1 asked is files that cant be scanned https://blog.avast.com/2014/02/28/how-do-i-handle-files-that-avast-cant-scan/

Appreciate all the help. I’ll assume that I’m in the clear then. Thanks.
