Win 7 64 Bit Anti-virus message

I have installed Avast Free 64 bit anti-virus for my Win 7 64 bit - I get the daily message of datat base update - bu then I get a flagged message in Win 7 that says I don’t have an anti-virus system or protection installed and I should go to action center to find one. Any ideas on how to address this?

Is it a constant glitch?
I should think that installation has not worked properly. It’s working fine with my x64 Win7.
So go to control panel, programs & functions, avast, select “repair”. That should cure the problem.
