Win32:Adware-gen [Adw] Avast Threat Detection:

Hello

My avast anti virus detected this “Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]” treat and repeated to notify me every 5 - 10 mins or so before i found help on this forum. It has stopped now after doing the scans recommended but as we know that doesn’t mean that it has gone. Scan logs are attached, any help is very much appreciated thanks in advance.

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

Thanks a lot essexboy for the quick reply, the fix log is attached.

AdwCleaner should remove the remnants, once that has completed let me know of any problems
