I have a laptop and PC which both have a virus threat which pops up every 10 minutes and the virus is called Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]. each time it shows 2 threats both seem to be from the same file in the same directory in the same folder which are:
File: ~428d151e.tmp
Original Location: C:/Users/John/Dropbox/.dropbox.cache
I have also noticed that both my machines are running extremely slow
The only connection between the 2 machines is dropbox which I have run a scan on which shows no threats
I have also received other threats, I have attached 2 screenshots from my avast internet security software to show you the two threats.
I have run scans and files have been either moved to the chest or deleted but it made no difference the threat keeps showing every 10 minutes.
The reason it is spreading is because you did catch the virus in time.i indeed have the virus but the minute my computer was acting funny i did full scan and caught it.i have had it for 2 weeks and nothing has happened.i have read at many sites that you have to go under the boot-time scan and do it.once you do it it sould clear it out but WARNING:if you have any VERY IMPORTANT Files in quarantine remove it from boot-time scan.if not you may just lose your hole computer.i am not sure about this but i am pretty sure,i am just warning you too or it might delete the memory if its in a file.
