Win32:Agent-ZPS [trj]

Hello.
Over the past few days I’ve had a problem with Avast detecting what I assume is a trojan called Win32:Agent-ZPS. It keeps on reappearing, no matter what I do! I’ve scanned with Ad-Aware, SUPERantispyware and Spybot in safe mode. I’ve also used ATF-cleaner to delete histories and such like, and it keeps on popping up again in the system restore area of the hard drive. Is it a false positive?

Anyway, here is my latest HJT log:

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

emmie8992.

Nothing obvious in the log. What is the name and location of the file detected? (You can find this information in the avast! log.)

Try a boot time scan with avast! Right click the scanner screen, select ‘schedule a boot time scan’ and reboot when requested.

Scan for out-of-date and insecure software using Secunia Software Inspector and update any vulnerable software: this will help to prevent future infections.

i got this virus too! good luck

Hi emmie8992,

Do I scan with the latest update of DrWebCureIt from here: ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

polonus

Thanks for the advice, FreewheelinFrank and polonus.

Frank - I’ve temporarily uninstalled Avast to see if anything else picks this up, so I don’t know the name and location. Boot scan found nothing. I ran Secunia, and updated as necessary.

Polonus - I’m at work at the moment, but started DrWebCureIt before I came out, so it should be done when I get back.

I suggest you check the other topics in this forum as there have been a rash of Win32:Agent-ZPS [trj] detections, and some have been false positives.

Check those topics and see if the detected file names ring any bells since you did an uninstall.
