Hi. Lately Avast has been notifying me every few minutes that it has detected a Trojan (Win32:Atraps-PF [Trj]), sometimes more than one at a time. Additionally, this seems to be related: Adobe Flash Player keeps trying to install itself, although it’s already installed, and MBAM freezes every time I try to run a scan, quick or full. I have a PC and use Firefox. I have attached the OTL log file. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.
Did you install the Windows/MS Updates yesterday? Some people reported that is messed up a few things on their machine, and Flash put out an emergency update due to this Windows Update. So if you have Flash to automatically install new updates, this would explain why it’s trying to update itself.
If you did install the new Windows Update, did you reboot after the update? If not go through the process again and reboot.
After this, please do the following:
Check the information on the first post of this thread under Virus/Worms for you to check your machine for malware: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0.
Follow the directions of obtaining an MBAM log if you can (make sure you update MBAM first) and the OTL logs (2) (save them as ANSI), and aswMBR log. Post the logs as an attachment (Additional Options > Attach > Post).
Do not make any changes to your machine after posting these logs. A malware removal specialist will be along to review them after you post them. I see you posted one of the two OTL logs already, but continue with the other logs. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.
and MBAM freezes every time I try to run a scan, quick or full.it may be the virus blocking it.....
