Win32:Dialer[Trj}

Anybody,
Is there an easy way to explain to a complete beginner how to remove the following:

Win32:Trojan-gen(Other)
Win32:Dialer[Trj]

I use:
Avast 4.6 Home
Ad Aware SE Build 1.05
Spybot S&D 1.3
Microsoft Antispyware Beta
on Windows XP. If there are any other details required please tell me.

Here is copy of my hijack this log. Any help would be much appreciated. Been on this thing almost a week.

You are using an out of date hiacjthis version, you can get the latrst version from here: http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Win32:Trojan-gen(Other) Win32:Dialer[Trj]

Please provide the filenames and locations of these files.

yep,

and fix everything thatÄs marked red or yellow in this analysis:
http://www.hijackthis.de/logfiles/108999d9d27d67799d3d94be1fe7690e.html
(EXCEPT the Olympus stuff)

fixing means: in Hijackthis, checkmark the respective line, and then click below button “Fix checked”

Also secure your system better: read link “Virus Removal” below
and stay away from those dubios sites & programs

How do I know if I’m all clear without having to run all the scans? Heres the new hijackthis log.
By the way the Win32Dialer was located at
c:\Program Files\MicrosoftAntispyware\Quarantine\61ccf19-cf81-4193-98e6e1a211 and the Win32Trojan(Other) was located at c:\Documents and Settings\EVO.TAINT\Local Settins\Temp\27.exe. I also got another win32trojan(other located at c:\documents and settings\evo.taint\local settings\temp

Hi,

you’d know you removed it, if you follow the instructions in this topic, or believe avast, or know what you’re doing

@1) As the name says: Quarantine folder of Microsoft’s Antispyware-Tool: empty the quarantine from ithin said program, or delete it with avast or manually

@2) & 3) : Empty your TEMP-folders (e.g. via DriveCleanup or manually), or or delete it with avast (maybe best in SafeMode (F8-Boot)

Also use SPYBOT & AD-AWARE; see VirusRemoval" below

Hi back,

  1. I am following the instructions in this topic

  2. I do trust Avast or I wouldn’t use it and

  3. I DON’T know what I’m doing, which is why I’ve turned to the forum for help. Cut me a bit of slack and go easy on me, I haven’t even learnt how this forum thing works let alone how to remove viruses.

But anyway I’m very grateful for all your assistance.

Delete these: (looks like you removed some from your last log on your own :))

O9 - Extra button: Money Viewer - {E023F504-0C5A-4750-A1E7-A9046DEA8A21} - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\mnyviewer.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM..\Run: [QuickTime Task] “C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe” -atboottime

Then clean your temp files, you may want to use ccleaner for this: http://www.filehippo.com/download/ncAOCJr-Om3Lq35Rh3QQoQ2/download.html

Then reboot your machine.

Then let us know if the problem is solved or not
